The National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) in association with a private player, Joulepoint, a fast growing EV charger management platform in India, is planning to develop over 5000 charging points in Central Delhi area.
Joulepoint will be installing these charging points for two and three-wheeler taxis also apart from cars. While two and three-wheeler EVs need less than 10 KW of current, which can be supplied sufficiently through AC chargers, four-wheeler EVs require 15-100 KW and need DC chargers. Both electric current options will be provided.
NHEV is also going to hold the second trial run for the proposed world's longest e-highway at Delhi-Jaipur Expressway. In December 2020, the first phase of trials was completed at Delhi-Agra Yamuna Expressway. The project -- Atal Harit Vidyut Rashtriya Mahamarg (AHVRM) Yojana -- has been named after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
