Post the launch of EQC Electric SUV in 2020, Mercedes-Benz is all set to expand its EV range in India with the launch of the EQS sedan on August 24 as a CBU import first followed by the assembled in India variants of EQS 580 and 450.

Its all-wheel drive system that can distribute torque between the front and rear axle much faster than a mechanical system. This will have AMG EQS 53 doing the 0-100 kph sprint in 38 seconds (with at least 80 percent charge in the battery) with the top-speed limited to 220 kph.
Internationally EQS 53 boasts of an AMG Dynamic Plus package which boosts overall power to 761 hp and torque to 1020 Nm with which EQS 53 can go from 0-100 kph in just 3.4 seconds and has a top-speed of 250 kph.
Dimensionally, the EQS is in the same region as the latest generation of the S-Class. On the inside, the EQS' cabin is dominated by the new Mercedes Hyperscreen display – a one-piece curved screen that stretches across the full width of the dashboard and is made up of three digital displays (an instrument display, a central infotainment screen and a screen for the front passenger). Besides this, everything else you'd expect from a high-end Mercedes is available including premium leather upholstery, electrically adjustable seats, multi-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof.
The EQS is the first ever all-electric Mercedes-Benz boldly upholding the brand’s core values, and underlining the Three Pointed Star’s electric ambition.
It remains a milestone on way to Mercedes-Benz’s CO2-neutrality and its plan for accomplishing a climate-neutral new car fleet.
Developed in Affalterbach, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is based on the Mercedes-EQ architecture, aiming to appeal and win over a new clientele for Mercedes-AMG.
