Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRCT) has awarded a 500 cr electric bus contract under the FAME 2 scheme to MEIL Group’s Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY) by extending a letter of award (LoA) to supply 300 Non AC electric buses as per a gross Cost Contract (GCC) model.
The new 35-seater, low floor, 12-meter long non-AC buses as per the GCC term sheet would be procured by EVEY from OLECTRA, within 20 months and Evey would take responsibility for their maintenance for the next 12 years.
The Olectra e-Bus has a range of 200 km on a single charge aided by customer-friendly features like electronically controlled air suspension for a comfortable ride, CCTV cameras, an emergency button, and USB sockets for each seat.
Acknowledging this order KV Pradeep, Chairman, and Managing Director, Olectra Greentech Limited said, “Olectra is working with various State Transport Undertakings across Pune (PMPML), Mumbai (BEST), Goa, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Surat, Ahmedabad, Silvassa and Nagpur and we are happy to now add Telangana too"
Pradeep further informed that its electric buses have been making round trips from Hyderabad Airport for the last three years and the company will "stick to its schedule" to deliver it to TSRTC on time to improve the overall commuting experience.
