Korean automaker Kia launched India's fastest (till date) EV charger unit in Kochi. Having installed a 240 kWh DC fast charger for electric passenger vehicles, the company is planning to install fifteen 150kWh chargers in 12 cities across the country.
In Kochi, the company has not restricted usage of the pay-per-charge DC charger to only its customers, opening the facility to be utilised by all electric vehicle car owners in the city.
Kia has big plans for EV in India; the company had already announced that it will launch its first Indian EV in 2025.
Currently, the company has its EV6 trying to make a mark in the market. The Kia EV6 offers a range of 528 kilometres on a full charge.
