Olectra Achieves Landmark Milestone as India’s First Company to Deploy 4,000 Electric Buses Nationwide

Hyderabad / Shimla, July 30, 2026: Olectra Greentech Limited, India’s leading electric mobility company, has become the first company in the country to deploy 4,000 electric buses on Indian roads, marking a major milestone in India’s transition to sustainable public transport. The landmark achievement was commemorated with the symbolic handover of Olectra’s 4,000th electric bus to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri during the flag-off ceremony of 297 Olectra electric buses inducted into the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) fleet. The event was attended by senior officials from the Government of Himachal Pradesh, HRTC and Olectra Greentech.

With 4,000 electric buses now operating across multiple states and cities, Olectra has strengthened its leadership in India’s electric bus segment, providing reliable, cost-efficient and environmentally sustainable public transport while serving millions of passengers. Collectively, Olectra’s fleet has covered over 730 million green kilometres, preventing more than 6.5 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions, significantly contributing to cleaner air and sustainable mobility.
