NOVEMBER 13th 2025: More than three decades since its historic debut, the legendary Tata Sierra, India’s original homegrown SUV, is set for a headline-making comeback in a dynamic new avatar.
Tata Motors will unveil the all-new Sierra on November 15, 2025, ushering in a new era with cutting-edge ICE (petrol/diesel) and advanced EV powertrain options. The full launch, including pricing and complete specifications, will take place on November 25, promising surprises across both drivetrains.

Pricing and Segment Strategy
Tata Motors is aiming squarely at India’s mid-size SUV sweet spot. The Sierra’s ICE variants are expected to carry an ex-showroom starting price of around Rs 12 lakh, while its hi-tech EV sibling will span ₹15–25 lakh, which is expected to compete with the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6, making Tata’s multiple powertrain approach a disruptive force in the segment.
Powertrains, Range, and Performance
Under the Sierra’s bold hood, the ICE range will likely feature Tata’s latest 1.5-litre TGDI turbo-petrol churning out ~170PS and 280Nm, alongside a refined 1.5-litre diesel (118PS, 260Nm).
Tata’s EV version aims to set new standards for Indian electric SUVs, with a range of 450-500 km per charge, highlighting the company’s technological advancements.
Retro Roots, Futuristic Style
The Sierra crafts a unique visual identity by reimagining its iconic silhouette and signature curved rear windows, now amplified with muscular proportions, raked pillars, and athletic 19-inch alloys.
Inside the Sierra, one can discover a cabin that evokes premium luxury: a triple-screen dashboard (driver, infotainment, and passenger displays), plush upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and a suite of segment-leading tech such as Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, ventilated powered seats, and dual-zone climate control — all designed to delight the modern Indian SUV buyer.
Reinventing an Icon: Heritage Meets Innovation
Sierra’s modern rebirth is more than a relaunch, as it is Tata Motors’ statement of intent, confidently bridging India’s automotive legacy with a bold electric future. By leveraging its heritage and infusing the SUV with top-tier connectivity, safety, and comfort, Tata is staking its claim as an innovation leader across both ICE and EV markets.
The Sierra is set to become Tata’s new flagship, connecting generations and making a strong case for indigenous engineering at its best.
Tata Motors will reveal every detail, booking schedule, and real-world performance stats at the November 25 launch, marking a landmark moment in India’s SUV evolution.
