NEW DELHI, 6th September 2025:Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup’s car brand, VinFast, has officially debuted in India with the launch of its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs, priced at ₹16.49 lakh and ₹20.89 lakh, respectively. Vietnam’s largest carmaker, with a 36% domestic market share, is positioning India as a cornerstone of its global growth strategy.
“This is a milestone in our extraordinary journey of belief—that premium e-mobility should be accessible to everyone,” said Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia. “For us, India is not just another market but essential to our mission. With its scale, India can lead the global electric revolution.”

To woo buyers in a highly competitive EV market, both models come with a 10-year/2 lakh km warranty, free charging until July 2028, and three years of free maintenance. VinFast said its India play will extend beyond car sales to include charging infrastructure, after-sales support, and customer-first engagement. By end-2025, the brand aims to be present in 27 cities with 35 showrooms.
The India push is backed by a $500 million investment in its upcoming Thoothukudi plant in Tamil Nadu, part of a larger $2 billion commitment. The facility will have an initial capacity of 50,000 EVs annually and will cater to both the domestic market and exports to Southeast Asia and Africa.
The VF6 will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra BE.6, while the larger VF7 will rival models such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and BMW iX1 LWB. Globally, VinFast has already entered 16 countries, and India now sits at the heart of its international ambitions.
