Chennai, July 15, 2026: India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. has launched the FZ-Blue Flex, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability journey and reinforcing its commitment to India’s transition towards cleaner mobility solutions. Priced at ₹1,24,240 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new motorcycle introduces flex-fuel technology to Yamaha’s popular FZ range. Powered by Yamaha’s proven 149cc air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, the FZ-Blue Flex is capable of operating on ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85, supporting India’s growing biofuel ecosystem and reducing dependence on conventional fossil fuels without compromising performance.
Commenting on the launch, Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said, “Achieving carbon neutrality requires a multi-pathway approach rather than relying on a single technology. While we have already begun our electric mobility journey in India, the introduction of Blue Flex technology represents another important step in aligning Yamaha’s global sustainability goals with India’s progressive biofuel policies.”
The FZ-Blue Flex retains the sporty styling of the FZ series, featuring a full-LED projector headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, aerodynamic bodywork, faux air vents, single-piece seat and LED tail lamp. The motorcycle produces 8.6 kW of power and 12.8 Nm of peak torque, paired with a smooth five-speed gearbox. For enhanced ride quality and safety, the motorcycle comes equipped with telescopic front suspension, rear swingarm suspension and ABS, ensuring stable handling and confident braking across varied riding conditions. The FZ-Blue Flex will be offered in Metallic Black and will be available through Yamaha’s select Blue Square dealerships across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana and Tamil Nadu. The launch aligns with India’s policy push towards higher ethanol blending, cleaner fuels and lower emissions, while advancing Yamaha’s global ambition of achieving carbon neutrality across its product lifecycle.
