Pune, February 6, 2023: Bridgestone India, a subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, announced an investment of over Rs 600 crores to upgrade technology and increase capacity at its Chakan plant in Pune. The investment, which will be spread over three years, is aimed at meeting the growing demand for high-quality passenger car tires in India. The Chakan plant will be updated with global technologies and manufacturing practices to provide fuel-efficient and better-quality tyres for the Indian market. Bridgestone India is committed to providing sustainable mobility solutions, and this investment is part of that commitment. The Chakan plant, which has sustainable manufacturing practices such as a solar power plant and a carbon-neutral biomass fuel-based boiler plant, commenced production in 2013.
