Vadodara, August 18, 2026: ChargeZone, India’s largest EV charging network with more than 15,000 charging points, and Fresh Bus, an all-electric intercity bus service, have expanded their existing partnership to support the deployment of 400 additional electric buses on ChargeZone’s charging network. The expansion will increase the Fresh Bus fleet supported by ChargeZone from 100 to 500 electric buses. Over the next 15 months, the expanded network will connect 20 cities and 17 additional towns across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
To support the larger fleet, ChargeZone will add 30 MW of charging capacity to its existing 10 MW dedicated infrastructure for Fresh Bus, taking the total dedicated capacity to 40 MW. The expansion forms part of ChargeZone’s broader plan to add 200 MW of charging capacity across its national network. At full scale, the partnership is expected to deliver around 100 million units of energy annually, support more than 20,000 passenger journeys every day, and help reduce approximately 9,000–10,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Kartikey Hariyani, Founder & CEO of ChargeZone, said the partnership demonstrates how reliable charging infrastructure can help commercial mobility operators scale electrification. He highlighted intercity public transport as a key segment for EV adoption, given the high utilisation of buses, longer travel distances and the need for dependable charging infrastructure.
Fresh Bus Founder Sudhakar Reddy said the reliability of ChargeZone’s network had enabled the company to move from proving its electric intercity model to scaling it across more routes. He added that the expansion to 500 buses and 40 MW of dedicated charging capacity demonstrates the potential for electric intercity travel to become dependable, affordable and scalable. The expanded partnership marks another step towards accelerating zero-emission intercity public transportation, while demonstrating how integrated charging infrastructure can support the large-scale electrification of commercial bus fleets in India.
