Mumbai, 25 August 2026: Drivn, an electric vehicle leasing platform focused on heavy commercial fleets, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors to explore leasing-based deployment of electric commercial vehicles (e-CVs) in India. Under the partnership, Drivn will offer customised leasing and financing solutions for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle portfolio. The initiative is aimed at helping fleet operators overcome upfront cost and deployment challenges while making the transition to electric mobility simpler and more commercially viable.
Drivn provides bespoke operating lease solutions designed for commercial fleet operators. By bringing together financing, vehicle deployment and charging infrastructure, the company seeks to address key barriers to fleet electrification and accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles across India.Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has been expanding its electric CV portfolio and supporting ecosystem, with a focus on performance, uptime, charging and financing across the vehicle lifecycle. Its latest range of electric trucks spans 7 to 55 tonnes and is built on the new IMOEV (Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle) architecture under the Tata Trucks.ev brand.
Commenting on the partnership, Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Ltd , said the collaboration with Drivn would help make electric trucks more accessible to customers while supporting India’s transition towards sustainable transportation. Manav Bansal, CEO and Co-founder of Drivn, said the partnership would address critical barriers such as upfront costs and deployment timelines. Drivn plans to deploy more than 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years through the partnership, providing fleet operators with a scalable pathway to electrification. Tata Motors’ electric truck portfolio is designed for applications including e-commerce logistics, construction material movement and port operations. Supported by expanding charging infrastructure and a nationwide service network, the company aims to strengthen the adoption of zero-emission commercial mobility in India. Drivn describes itself as an operational and financial backbone for commercial electric mobility. The company acquires, owns and leases electric buses and trucks, supported by technology covering charging infrastructure planning, battery lifecycle management, fleet operations and end-of-life solutions. Its OEM-agnostic platform caters to sectors including intercity transportation, logistics, e-commerce, cement and steel. The partnership between Drivn and Tata Motors is expected to combine vehicle availability with flexible financing and operational support, helping commercial fleet operators transition to electric vehicles at scale.
