MUMBAI, March 27, 2025: There is a change of guard at CII Western region with Rishi Kumar Bagla elected Chairman taking over from Swati Salgaonkar as her term ends later this month.
This transition was announced at the newly formed Western Regional Council’s inaugural meeting today.
Bagla, also the Chairman and Managing Director of BG Electricals & Electronics India Ltd., will be joined by Vir S. Advani, elected Deputy Chairman of the CII Western Region. Advani is also the Chairman and Managing director of the well-known engineering firm Blue Star Ltd.
In light of this leadership change, senior officials from the CII Western Region have stated that Bagla and Advani will focus on driving business growth, sustainability, and global expansion in 2025-26. Their primary goals are to improve the ease of doing business, lower the cost of doing business, advance infrastructure development, and promote internationalisation.
Officials expressed confidence that the Western Region is ready to embark on a transformative journey toward economic growth and sustainable development. The newly elected leaders are dedicated to advancing initiatives that align with the goals of both businesses and communities, ensuring a prosperous future for everyone involved.
As part of its Internationalisation strategy, the CII Western Region intends to help its members connect with potential international business partners and expand their global reach. This will include conducting market research, organizing trade missions, and hosting networking events.
The new leaders have also emphasized the importance of strong collaboration with government entities, advocating for partnerships with local, state, and national governments to promote policies that promote economic advancement, environmental sustainability, and social equity.
