Gurugram/New Delhi, Mar 9 2026: Maruti Suzuki India Limited on Thursday announced the launch of two community healthcare initiatives in Haryana as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at improving health awareness and outcomes in rural and semi-urban communities. The initiatives — focusing on menstrual hygiene awareness and anaemia reduction — are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 5: Gender Equality, the company said in a statement.Under its CSR outreach, the company has initiated a year-long menstrual hygiene awareness programme in two government schools in Rohtak and Kharkhoda, which will subsequently expand to eight schools in Manesar.
The programme aims to reach over 4,500 students from Classes VI to XII and will focus on spreading awareness on menstrual health, addressing myths and misconceptions, and encouraging hygienic practices. It will also involve parents, teachers and local community stakeholders to build a supportive ecosystem for adolescent girls. In addition, the automaker has launched a community-based anaemia reduction programme across 10 villages in the Gurugram, Rohtak and Sonipat districts. The initiative builds on the company’s ongoing CSR interventions in healthcare across communities around its manufacturing facilities in Haryana.
According to the World Health Organization, anaemia remains a major global public health concern, particularly affecting young children, pregnant and postpartum women, and adolescent girls.Aligned with the Anemia Mukt Bharat Mission of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the programme is expected to benefit around 16,500 people and includes community health screenings, nutrition awareness sessions and regular follow-ups to monitor progress.
Commenting on the initiative, Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the programmes reflect the company’s commitment to community development through its CSR initiatives.
“Our CSR programmes focus on improving the quality of life in communities around our operations through interventions in healthcare, education, sanitation, water access and infrastructure. Through these initiatives, we aim to reach more than 21,000 beneficiaries, including adolescents, women and mothers,” Bharti said.
Maruti Suzuki said the initiatives are part of its broader CSR efforts aimed at strengthening community health and supporting long-term social development in the regions where it operates.
