BENGALURU, 31st July 2025: Oben Electric plans to launch the next generation of its Rorr EZ electric motorcycle on 5 August, with bold upgrades and rider-centric refinements to target India’s rapidly growing urban commuter market. The company said that deliveries for the new model will begin on August 5.

Since its debut in November 2024, the Rorr EZ has quietly built a following among city riders who want electric without compromise. The motorcycle is designed for urban traffic, providing easy handling, an IDC range of up to 175 km, and fast charging to 80% in 45 minutes. With a top speed of 95 km/h, quick acceleration, and a class-leading torque output, it combines commuter practicality with a hint of performance.

The upcoming model retains the commuter‑first DNA that made the Rorr EZ popular while layering in advanced tech, a sharper design, and new rider‑focused features. Oben’s proprietary lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery platform provides 50% higher heat resistance and double the lifespan of conventional chemistries, making it ideal for India’s challenging riding conditions.
Oben Electric, founded in 2020 and based in Bengaluru, has positioned itself as a homegrown alternative to foreign electric motorcycle brands. It has filed over 25 patents for its in‑house‑designed components and battery technology, part of a strategy to become a full‑stack EV manufacturer. The company’s leadership sees the next-generation Rorr EZ as a bridge between early electric adopters and India’s large base of motorcycle commuters, who are hesitant to switch from internal combustion.
The next‑gen Rorr EZ reflects our vision of making electric motorcycles the default choice for India’s urban riders. It combines performance, reliability, and practicality with a bold new edge for everyday commuting,” a company spokesperson said.
Oben, the world’s largest motorcycle market, hopes to gain an advantage in the two-wheeler EV space by combining homegrown innovation and commuter-orientated design.
For Oben, the Rorr EZ is more than just a product refresh; it’s a statement of intent in a rapidly evolving market. The next-generation Rorr EZ aims to demonstrate that electric motorcycles can meet the demands of Indian cities with style, speed, and staying power, building on the success of the first-generation model. Oben aims to stay ahead of the electric two-wheeler market by combining commuter practicality and homegrown innovation.
