Bengaluru based Softbank funded EV maker Ola electric launched its mass market scooter Ola S1 and simultaneously dedicated its proposed super luxury sports electric car that will go from 0-100 in 4 second and have a driving range of 500 kms, to break cover by 2024.
The EV maker proposes to make one million electric cars, 10 million two-wheelers and 100 Gigawatt per hour (Gwh) of battery cells every year

The Ola S1 launched at Rs 99,999 for limited period is avaiable for a booking of Rs 499 with deliveries to begin by this September.
Similar to Ola S1 Pro, the new EV is built on the operating system, MoveOS which gets a Diwali upgrade with a battery capacity of 3 Kilowatt per hour (Kwh) and a top speed of 90 kilometers per hour (Kmph). Aggarwal also said that the new EV will support all future software upgrades like Move OS3 and beyond.
To boost the charging infrastructure Ola Electric is also launching around 100 hypercharge units across India starting November 2022.
Ola CEO & Founder also showcased the firms its research and development centre, Ola Battery Innovation Centre (BIC) that has been built at an investment of $500 million
Sharing the advancemenents made by the firm, Aggarwal stated tthat the company has produced its very first Lithium Ion cell and very shortly commercial production will begin at its giga factory. "We have doing a lot of development testing around this and by end of 2023 we will have them in our products,” he said.

Ola’s new car will be one of the fastest cars in India, that can go from 0-100 Km/h within 4 seconds and is being developed to have a range of more than 500km/charge.
Designed to deliver a drag coefficient of less than 0.21, it will be the sportiest car ever built in India with an all glass roof. The car will be equipped with one of the most advanced computers in a 4 wheeler, assisted driving capabilities, keyless and handless doors amongst many other features etc. It will also have Ola’s very own MoveOS software and car owners will be able to receive regular feature updates OTA through their ownership span.
