Renault Reshapes Top Team as it plans to Accelerate EV Shift, India on its Radar

Renault Group’s new CEO François Provost wasted no time in overhauling the company’s leadership, announcing a suite of executive appointments designed to speed the French automaker’s transition to electric vehicles while sharpening its focus on high-potential growth markets—chief among them, India. The most notable shift is the creation of a Chief Growth Officer role, now held by Fabrice Cambolive, who retains his position as CEO of the Renault brand. Cambolive will oversee both Renault and its cost-focused arm Dacia, aligning strategy and driving expansion in key global regions. India, together with Latin America and Korea, stands out as an international priority as Renault prepares to roll out locally produced EVs and deepen its presence in affordable mobility solutions.

September 3, 2025: Boulogne-Billancourt: Renault Group’s new CEO, François Provost, wasted no time in overhauling the company’s leadership, announcing a series of executive appointments aimed at speeding up the French automaker’s transition to electric vehicles while sharpening its focus on high-potential growth markets, particularly India.

The most significant change is the creation of a Chief Growth Officer position, which is now held by Fabrice Cambolive, who remains CEO of the Renault brand. Cambolive will be in charge of both Renault and its cost-cutting subsidiary Dacia, coordinating strategy and driving growth in key global markets. India, along with Latin America and Korea, stands out as an international priority as Renault prepares to launch locally manufactured EVs and expand its presence in affordable mobility solutions.

AKatrin Adt, a former Mercedes-Benz executive, will also join the leadership team as Dacia’s new CEO.She will lead the brand’s electrification efforts and retail transformation. Meanwhile, Philippe Brunet is appointed Chief Technology Officer, overseeing group-wide engineering and innovation to keep up with Europe’s tightening regulatory environment and competition from Chinese rivals.

“To meet the challenges ahead, we need an organisation that makes faster decisions, executes smarter, and stays closer to its customers.Today’s leadership changes bring together talented executives with extensive industry knowledge, strong expertise, and, most importantly, the internal credibility to make a difference,” said Provost.

TThe restructuring aims to create a more agile, accountable Renault, capable of meeting the accelerating pace of global electrification and capitalising on opportunities in emerging markets such as India. The challenge now is to translate fresh leadership into long-term market impact—while keeping Renault at the forefront of the automotive transformation.

Other changes strengthen cost and execution discipline. Anthony Plouvier is promoted to Chief Procurement Officer, with a mandate to strengthen supplier partnerships and reduce costs—essential for keeping EV models competitively priced.

Thierry Charvet now oversees an integrated Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality portfolio, while Claire Fanget takes on the role of Chief People & Organisation Officer, responsible for aligning workforce skills with Renault’s electrification and digitalisation initiatives.

Analysts say the dual emphasis on engineering leadership and market expansion underscores Renault’s twin priorities: accelerating EV innovation in Europe while positioning India and other emerging markets as proving grounds for affordable electrification.
