Cape Town, South Africa, May 23, 2026:Tata Motors showcased its widest-ever commercial vehicle portfolio in Cape Town, presenting 11 advanced mobility solutions that highlighted the company’s strong engineering expertise, evolving technology capabilities and commitment to future-ready transportation for global markets. The showcase featured a comprehensive mix of next-generation electric vehicles and proven commercial platforms across cargo and passenger mobility segments, reflecting Tata Motors’ focus on delivering higher productivity, improved uptime and lower total cost of ownership for customers operating in diverse business environments.
Among the key highlights were the all-new Ultra Prime RE, a rear-engine intra-city bus designed for superior urban mobility and passenger comfort, and the Azura range of next-generation intermediate and light-duty trucks developed for regional and intercity haulage applications. Speaking at the event, Mr. Asif Shamim, Head – International Business, Tata Motors Ltd., said the showcase underlined the company’s continued emphasis on application-driven mobility solutions tailored for international markets. He noted that the portfolio demonstrates Tata Motors’ ability to develop advanced vehicle platforms and technologies — including electric mobility solutions — that cater to varied operating conditions while enhancing reliability, efficiency and customer profitability. Tata Motors has built a strong presence across Sub-Saharan Africa, operating in 29 countries through an extensive distribution network and regional partners including Tata International, Panafrique Motors, KOMCO Motors and Allied Motors . The company has sold over 340,000 commercial vehicles in the region and currently offers more than 60 models supported by over 320 service touchpoints. The electric mobility range showcased included the Tata Ace Pro EV for last-mile delivery operations, the Tata Intra EV pickup for urban cargo applications, the Tata Ultra E.9 light electric truck for intra-city logistics and the Prima E28.K electric tipper engineered for mining and construction operations. Tata Motors also displayed the Intra V30 and V70 pickups, designed to maximise earning potential through higher payload capacity and enhanced driver comfort, along with the Azura 1918 truck that combines productivity, uptime and lifecycle value.In the passenger transport segment, the company showcased the Ultra Prime RE midi bus, the LPO 1618 Magna fully built AC bus for staff and intercity travel, the LP 909 bus for school and staff transportation, and the premium LPO 1623 Nova coach for long-distance intercity operations.
