IWATA, Japan, May 23, 2026: Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has reinforced its commitment to India’s rapidly expanding automation and manufacturing ecosystem with the inauguration of the Robotics Business Support Division in Gurugram, Haryana. The new sales and service facility has been set up within Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. (YMIS), the company’s Indian subsidiary responsible for the sales and distribution of Yamaha motorcycles and other products in the country. The strategic expansion comes at a time when India is emerging as one of the world’s fastest-growing manufacturing hubs, driven by rising industrial investments, increasing adoption of automation technologies and strong government focus on local manufacturing initiatives. With industries across automotive, electronics, semiconductor and industrial equipment sectors accelerating their transition towards smart manufacturing, the demand for advanced robotics and factory automation solutions in India is witnessing substantial growth.
Recognising this opportunity, Yamaha Motor aims to strengthen its presence in the Indian robotics market by enhancing customer engagement, improving technical support capabilities and expanding awareness of its advanced robotic technologies. The newly established Robotics Business Support Division is expected to serve as a key operational hub for Yamaha’s robotics business in India, enabling faster response times, streamlined service operations and closer collaboration with customers across manufacturing sectors.Initially, the division will focus on providing sales, technical support and after-sales service for Yamaha’s SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Assembly Systems and industrial robots, which are widely used in electronics manufacturing and precision industrial applications. Over time, Yamaha Motor also plans to build the necessary infrastructure and technical capabilities to support semiconductor back-end processing equipment, aligning with the growing investments being made in India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
A major highlight of the facility is its dedicated robotics showroom, designed to provide customers with a hands-on experience of Yamaha Motor’s latest automation technologies and intelligent manufacturing solutions. The showroom enables clients to closely evaluate product performance, understand real-world industrial applications and explore how robotics solutions can be integrated into their production environments to improve efficiency, precision and productivity. The experience centre is also expected to play an important role in helping manufacturers visualise next-generation factory automation systems while addressing key production challenges such as labour shortages, operational efficiency, quality consistency and manufacturing scalability. By offering direct demonstrations and solution-based consultations, Yamaha Motor aims to strengthen relationships with customers and support their transition towards more advanced and sustainable manufacturing operations.
Through this expansion, Yamaha Motor is positioning India as an important growth market for its global robotics business. The company believes that strengthening its local sales and support infrastructure will not only improve customer confidence and operational responsiveness but also accelerate adoption of Yamaha’s automation technologies across key industrial sectors in the country. The establishment of the Robotics Business Support Division further reflects Yamaha Motor’s broader strategy of expanding beyond its traditional mobility business and increasing its footprint in high-growth technology-driven sectors, including industrial automation and robotics.
