With NHEV planning to flag off TECH TRIAL II, the second trial run for making National Highways EV friendly in September for Delhi – Jaipur Expressway, Charge Point Operators of India (CPOS) has approved Joulepoints’ proposal for setting up 5000 EV chargers in Central Delhi.
The pilot project is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Joulepoint will be working with Alektrify to install these charging points at 2000 allotted locations for piloting under Ease of Doing Business (EoDB).
The locations will include popular tourist destinations like Qutub Minar and Akshardham, shopping malls around the city like Select City Walk, Hotels like ITC Maratha, Taj Palace, Embassies in the city, IT Parks, Government offices, Apartments, Corporate Offices, Railway Stations and University Campuses and any other frequently visited areas.
Mr Ranjan Kumar Dodda, Chief Marketing Officer, Joulepoint has informed that Elektrify, a member of Charge Point Operators of India (CPOS) already owns two of India’s largest NHEV prototype charging stations in Gurugram.
These EV charging stations with 100 and 121 chargers respectively will have a capacity to charge 1500 cars in 24 hours and have a maximum utilisation of 72 percent with a minimal breakeven tenure of only 36 months.
“JoulePoint and Alektrify will work together to maximise the benefits and benefitting mutual
interests in translating areas of existing ease of doing business practices in E-Mobility, as
well as identifying strategic partnership and collaboration. This will also become a benchmark for other cities to accelerate EV adoption and contribute to building up a resilient E-Mobility framework.” Dodda said.
