Auburn Hills, Michigan (USA) / India, April 23, 2026: BorgWarner, a global leader in delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions, has secured a seven-year contract extension with a world-leading off-highway manufacturer to supply eight families of advanced controllers spanning engine, machine, power module, and battery management systems. The agreement, which runs through December 2032, builds on a long-standing partnership of several decades and reinforces BorgWarner’s position as a trusted technology partner across critical off-highway applications. The extended contract covers a broad spectrum of use cases—from construction and agricultural machinery to marine platforms and stationary power systems—highlighting the versatility and scalability of BorgWarner’s control technologies across diverse and demanding environments.
Commenting on the development, Dr. Stefan Demmerle, Vice President of BorgWarner Inc. and President & General Manager, PowerDrive Systems, said: “We have built an outstanding relationship with this leading off-highway manufacturer over many years, and we are excited to continue growing together. This extension underscores our ability to deliver high-performance, tailored solutions while remaining agile as our customer expands into new markets and applications.”
At the core of this partnership is BorgWarner’s comprehensive controller portfolio, designed to support both conventional and electrified propulsion systems. Its engine controllers are engineered to optimise combustion efficiency and reduce emissions in large diesel applications, supporting a wide array of sensors, actuators, and heavy-duty injection systems. Machine controllers play a critical role in translating operator inputs into precise actuator responses, enabling smooth, safe, and efficient operation in challenging environments such as construction and excavation. In addition, BorgWarner will supply power module controllers for electric machines and advanced battery management system (BMS) controllers—demonstrating its capability to support the growing shift toward electrification in the off-highway sector. This dual strength across traditional and electrified technologies positions the company to meet evolving customer requirements as the industry transitions toward cleaner and more efficient power solutions.
The contract extension not only reflects continued confidence in BorgWarner’s engineering expertise and product reliability, but also highlights its ability to deliver integrated, future-ready solutions at scale. As off-highway industries increasingly adopt electrification and advanced control systems, BorgWarner remains well-positioned to support this transformation through innovation, flexibility, and deep customer collaboration.
