Pune, Maharashtra, September 2, 2026: Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd. (KWV), the electric two-wheeler business of the Kinetic Group, is strengthening its growth strategy with a focused push towards international markets. Building on the growing momentum of its electric two-wheeler business in India, the company is evaluating opportunities across select global markets, with an initial focus on Turkey in Europe; Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in neighboring markets; and Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt in Africa. The international expansion marks an important next phase in Kinetic EV’s growth journey, as the company seeks to take its electric mobility proposition to markets that offer strong potential for electric two-wheelers. As part of this initiative, Kinetic Watts & Volts is assessing market potential, regulatory frameworks, customer requirements and local EV ecosystems, while exploring potential partnerships and distribution opportunities to build a sustainable international business.
Kinetic EV’s international ambitions are being supported by the company’s expanding presence in the Indian market. Kinetic Watts & Volts currently has 45 exclusive showrooms operational across India, with a further 40 outlets expected to become operational over the next two months. In addition, the company has issued 150 Letters of Intent (LOIs) for its exclusive dealership network, underlining strong interest from prospective channel partners and growing confidence in the Kinetic EV proposition. The company views the expansion of its domestic retail network as an important foundation for its international growth strategy. As the Indian business scales, Kinetic EV is simultaneously developing the capabilities, partnerships and market understanding required to establish a presence in carefully selected international markets.
As part of its initial international market assessment, Kinetic EV is evaluating Turkey as a key opportunity in Europe, while Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are being explored across neighboring markets. In Africa, the company is assessing opportunities in Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt.
The markets have been shortlisted based on factors including the potential for electric two-wheeler adoption, evolving EV ecosystems, customer requirements and the opportunity to establish an effective distribution and partner network. The company will continue to evaluate each market based on its regulatory environment, commercial viability and long-term growth potential before moving towards market entry.
To spearhead its international growth initiative, Mr. Makarand Joshi has joined Kinetic Watts & Volts to lead international business development. Mr. Joshi brings more than two decades of experience in developing international markets for Indian automotive products, with extensive exposure across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. His experience covers multiple automotive segments, including two-wheelers, commercial vehicles and tractors, as well as international market development, business expansion and distribution network development. His appointment is expected to strengthen Kinetic EV’s efforts to identify suitable markets, develop strategic partnerships and build a scalable international distribution network.
