New Delhi, September 9, 2026: The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), the apex industry body representing India’s leading automobile manufacturers, has elected Mr Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director & CEO of Ashok Leyland Ltd., as its President for 2026-27. Mr Agarwal, who previously served as Vice President of SIAM, succeeds Mr Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., who served as the organisation’s President and is now the Immediate Past President.
The new office bearers were elected during the SIAM Executive Committee Meeting held on September 3. The appointments mark the beginning of a new leadership term for the industry body as India’s automotive sector continues to navigate rapid technological, regulatory and market changes. As part of the leadership changes, Mr K N Radhakrishnan, Director & CEO of TVS Motor Company, has been elected Vice President of SIAM for 2026-27.
Meanwhile,Mr Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India Pvt. Ltd., has been elected Treasurer of SIAM for 2026-27. The new leadership team brings together senior industry executives representing major segments of India’s automobile sector and will steer SIAM’s industry engagement and initiatives during the 2026-27 term.
