Paris, France, May 13, 2026: Valeo has secured a significant contract from one of India’s leading automotive manufacturers to supply its advanced Valeo Smart Safety 360 (VSS360) system for commercial vehicles, marking a major milestone in the company’s efforts to expand advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) adoption in India. The VSS360 system, developed specifically for Indian road conditions, will be manufactured at Valeo’s state-of-the-art facility in Sanand, Gujarat, underscoring the company’s commitment to localizing cutting-edge technologies and supporting India’s evolving road safety requirements. The award comes at a time when the Indian commercial vehicle industry is increasingly embracing ADAS technologies amid tightening safety regulations and growing awareness of accident prevention. Designed to cope with India’s highly dynamic and often unpredictable traffic conditions, the Valeo Smart Safety 360 platform offers a comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance functions in a compact, cost-optimized package.
“This award demonstrates how our high-end ADAS technology can perform in some of the world’s most demanding driving environments while significantly improving road safety,” said Marc Vrecko, CEO of Valeo Brain Division. “India is a cornerstone of our Elevate 2028 strategy, and Valeo is committed to delivering high-tech, scalable and cost-optimized safety solutions tailored to the specific requirements of Indian roads.”
Jayakumar G, Group President and Managing Director of Valeo India, said the program represents an important step in expanding the company’s ADAS portfolio in the country’s commercial vehicle segment. “By localizing these advanced solutions, we aim to deliver highly competitive products tailored to our customers’ needs. Regulatory momentum is accelerating ADAS adoption and supporting the transition to safer and smarter mobility in India. With our strong industrial footprint and engineering talent, Valeo is well positioned to offer cutting-edge systems to customers across the country,” he said.
Valeo Smart Safety 360 is a one-box ADAS solution that integrates radar fusion directly into a smart front camera, eliminating the need for multiple electronic control units (ECUs). This architecture reduces system complexity, lowers costs and enables easier integration into existing vehicle platforms. The system combines three radars and one camera, all developed and manufactured by Valeo using advanced computer vision technology to ensure robust performance and reliability. The platform delivers a wide range of safety features, including Moving Off Information System (MOIS), which protects pedestrians and cyclists during pull-away; Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), which monitors critical side zones; Forward Collision Warning (FCW); Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB); Lane Departure Warning (LDW); and Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning (DDAW), which helps reduce accidents caused by fatigue. The system also supports over-the-air software updates, enabling manufacturers to maintain and enhance performance throughout the vehicle’s lifecycle.
A key advantage of the VSS360 platform is Valeo’s Univolt Camera, which is compatible with both 12-volt and 24-volt electrical architectures. This allows the technology to be deployed across the full range of commercial vehicles, from light commercial vehicles to heavy-duty trucks, giving OEMs a flexible and scalable solution that can meet upcoming safety regulations while remaining cost effective. The latest nomination reinforces Valeo’s strategic focus on India as one of its most important growth markets. With localized manufacturing, a strong R&D base and solutions tailored to Indian driving conditions, Valeo is positioning itself at the forefront of the country’s transition toward safer, smarter and more connected mobility.
