New Delhi, October 9, 2025: After successfully raising ₹30 crore in just six months, electric mobility platform Hala Mobility intends to install 6,000 electric vehicles (EVs) throughout India under its Hala+ FOCO (Franchise Owned, Company Operated) model.
The quick influx of capital, supported by institutional funds, HNIs, and green investors, shows that Hala’s goal of combining inclusive entrepreneurship and sustainability is becoming more and more trusted. 2,400 of the 6,000 EVs that were originally planned are currently in use, establishing a replicable model that connects income generation and climate action.
“Hala+ is India’s next step forward in sustainable entrepreneurship. ‘We’re transforming livelihoods, not just fleets,’ stated Dr Srikanth Reddy Kalakonda, Hala Mobility’s founder and CEO.
“Every investor who joins us contributes to a potent cycle of clean mobility and empowerment. We are demonstrating that sustainability and profitability can coexist with our integrated ecosystem, producing quantifiable social impact and substantial financial returns.
EV Livelihoods Meet Investor Returns
Investors can take part directly in India’s transition to clean mobility through the Hala+ FOCO model. In this arrangement, Hala Mobility oversees operations, fleet maintenance, and data analytics, while HNIs and family offices invest in EV assets. With a current Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 25.1%, the model combines verifiable social outcomes with financial transparency.
200 riders are supported for every ₹1 crore invested through Hala+, which also offsets almost 400 tonnes of CO₂ annually and incorporates into Hala’s circular EV ecosystem, which includes remanufacturing (Energix), battery recycling (Zyora), and refurbishment (Leven).
Hala is facilitating community-scale entrepreneurship and opening up the green economy to individual investors by directing funds into asset-backed EV operations.
Strengthening Self-Help Groups and Female Entrepreneurs
Hala+’s emphasis on Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and micro-entrepreneurs, particularly collectives led by women, is one of its pillars. With the help of Hala’s integrated digital platform, each SHG runs a fleet of EVs as a community business.
The Cercle OS system manages all aspects of the end-to-end support that participants receive, including cars, financing, insurance, access to charging and swapping, training, and real-time analytics. While guaranteeing high asset utilisation and steady returns for investors, this ecosystem approach lowers operational risk.
Dual Models to Accelerate Scale
The business also runs Hala One, a franchise-owned, franchise-operated business model that enables franchise partners to sign up for ₹999 per vehicle per month. In order to help standardise performance across regions, Hala One franchisees have access to fleet management dashboards, operational training, predictive maintenance, and uptime analytics.
Together, the FOCO and FOFO frameworks form a dual growth engine — allowing Hala to expand both vertically (through investor-backed fleets) and horizontally (via franchise-led entrepreneurship).
Next Phase of Expansion
Encouraged by early traction, Hala Mobility is expanding to Kochi, Trivandrum, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mumbai, and Pune in the next phase of rollout, with an additional 5,000 EVs planned over the coming year.
The company is also deepening collaborations with rural development departments, urban logistics players, and impact funds, aligning its growth with India’s broader EV adoption and livelihood-generation goals.
Industry analysts see Hala’s model as a scalable blueprint for socially inclusive clean-tech investment. By bridging the gap between capital and community, the company is creating a template that makes EV ownership both profitable and purpose-driven.
“Our FOCO model ensures investors see transparency, utilisation, and strong IRR while supporting local communities and the environment,” Dr. Kalakonda added. “We’re building an ecosystem where every kilometre driven generates both income and impact.”
Building a Profitable Clean-Tech Ecosystem
Founded with a mission to make clean mobility profitable, inclusive, and data-driven, Hala Mobility integrates vehicles, batteries, charging infrastructure, financing, and insurance into a single connected platform. Its HELIX framework spans the entire EV lifecycle — from manufacturing and operations to analytics and recycling.
With its blend of technology, entrepreneurship, and social inclusion, Hala’s FOCO approach offers a model for how capital markets and communities can co-create India’s green mobility transition.
