NEW DELHI, 4th June 2025: A robust order pipeline of 3 GWh in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) deployments throughout India has been secured by JBM Green Energy Systems (P) Ltd., the battery vertical of JBM Auto Ltd. This reflects the increasing demand for grid-integrated storage as the nation moves closer to its 2030 target of 500 GW of renewable energy.

The order book lists several unnamed clients, including a notable 1 GWh contract with the state-run hydropower behemoth SJVN Ltd. These projects are a significant step forward for JBMG, which operates the largest high-voltage lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility in India, built in the Delhi-NCR region and with an annual capacity of 6 GWh.
The new storage deployments will integrate state-of-the-art, grid-scale lithium-ion technologies to enable energy time-shifting, frequency regulation, and peak shaving—all critical needs for a renewable energy-powered grid. JBMG is using its core competencies in battery research and development, intelligent energy management software, and modular system architecture to provide fast-response, high-efficiency storage units.
Over the past five years, JBMG has created next-generation lithium battery and storage systems that are especially suited for Indian conditions with the help of international alliances and internal technology. Among the different markets the company serves are electric passenger cars, 2Ws, 3Ws, commercial vehicles, and independent energy storage projects ranging from mini-grids to multi-gigawatt scale.
Arya went on to say that JBMG is positioned as a top integrated energy storage company in India because of its capacity to provide comprehensive solutions, ranging from hardware and software design to testing, manufacturing, and aftermarket.
The expansion of the company is in line with recent policy announcements from NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Power, which have pushed for faster deployment of BESS, viability gap funding, and hybrid solar-storage projects to support India’s transition to a clean, reliable, and flexible grid.
