NEW DELHI, 24th April 2025: Zuperia Auto, a newly formed subsidiary of Lohia Auto, has been awarded a contract to provide 40 electric garbage collection vehicles to the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
The company said it has already deployed electric garbage collection vehicles in Delhi-NCR, Andhra Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
Industry analysts predict that the market for cargo and utility electric vehicles (EVs) will be around 93,000 units in the current fiscal year, with expectations of exceeding 150,000 units in the next 4-5 years.
Zuperia has two brands: ‘Youdha’ for mass-market institutional clients and ‘Lohia’ for a more premium audience.
The company plans to launch a new line of electric loaders and cargo vehicles under the Youdha brand. Zuperia is also expanding production capacity at its Kashipur facility to accommodate the expected increase in electric three-wheelers.
Ayush Lohia, CEO of Zuperia Auto, stated that the true potential of the EV sector goes beyond personal mobility.
He stated that, with increasing restrictions on diesel vehicles in cities and mounting pressure on municipalities to adopt clean mobility solutions, the cargo and garbage vehicle sectors are becoming critical focus areas.
A senior company official stated that they are seeing significant growth in non-personal mobility orders, which is being driven by in-house research and development, dedicated manufacturing capabilities, and the ability to customise vehicles to meet specific institutional needs.
