Bangalore, 28 May 2025 – Ather Energy, a well-known electric two-wheeler manufacturer in India, and Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the efficiency, performance, and safety of Ather’s electric scooters and charging systems to collaboratively accelerate innovation in the country’s EV industry.
The company intends to use Infineon’s state-of-the-art semiconductor technologies, including SiC and GaN solutions, automotive-grade sensors, and microcontrollers, to accomplish this.
The agreement, which was signed in Seoul, Korea, intends to assist India in reaching its EV goals, including a target of 30% market share for EVs by 2030.
The partnership’s details were disclosed by Swapnil Jain, CTO of Ather Energy, who stated, “Ather builds EVs with a focus on performance, efficiency, and reliability.” Our collaboration with Infineon, a leading global semiconductor company, enables us to incorporate cutting-edge technologies that enhance safety and charging efficiency while lowering system complexity and cost.
According to Peter Schaefer, Executive VP at Infineon, two-wheelers are central to one of the fastest-growing EV markets in India. “With the help of high-performance, energy-efficient solutions, this partnership with Ather will propel the next wave of sustainable mobility,” Schaefer said.
According to company representatives, the collaboration also looks into safety and sensing innovations with the goal of improving rider satisfaction and overall system dependability. Both businesses will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to India’s future mobility landscape, which is expected to be greener and more connected.
