Lucknow, May 31, 2026: With the commencement of operations at Noida International Airport approaching, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure seamless public transport connectivity through the deployment of 110 electric buses in the first phase. Chairing the fourth meeting of the State Transformation Commission, the Chief Minister reviewed plans for operating 500 electric buses across Noida, Greater Noida and the YEIDA region. He instructed officials to fully strengthen public transport infrastructure before the proposed flight operations begin on June 15.
The Chief Minister also emphasized accelerating the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across the state. Officials informed that Uttar Pradesh currently has around 15.5 lakh registered electric vehicles, with a target of establishing 10,000 charging stations by 2030. Approximately 2,500 charging stations are already operational. Reviewing ongoing and proposed expressway projects, the Chief Minister said enhanced connectivity would drive industrial growth, attract investments and create employment opportunities. He directed officials to expedite land acquisition and exchange-related work for major projects.
According to officials, nearly 55 percent of the land required for the Farrukhabad Link Expressway has already been acquired. The Chief Minister instructed that land acquisition for the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway, Jewar Link Expressway and Jhansi Link Expressway be completed by the end of June. The alignment for the Meerut-Haridwar Expressway has also been approved, with the land acquisition plan currently under preparation. Reiterating the government’s commitment to ease of doing business, the Chief Minister said delays in investment-related projects would not be tolerated and directed departments to ensure timely resolution of pending matters while maintaining continuous engagement with investors.
Progress on logistics infrastructure was also reviewed. Officials informed that possession has been obtained for 301 hectares of the required 323 hectares for the Multi Modal Logistic Hub, while the deadline for developer selection bids has been extended to July 6, 2026. For the Multi Modal Transport Hub, 144 hectares of the required 200 hectares have been secured, with efforts underway to acquire the remaining land. The Chief Minister stressed the need for simplified, transparent and time-bound building approval processes under the model building byelaws adopted by industrial development authorities.
Reviewing the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission, he directed officials to strengthen manpower availability for effective implementation of rural development schemes. Recruitment processes for vacant positions at both state and district levels are currently underway. The Chief Minister also reviewed the proposed Seed Park and Textile Park projects in Lucknow and directed officials to fast-track their development by aligning them with the state’s agricultural and industrial growth strategies. Officials informed that discussions with international institutions and leading seed companies have yielded positive progress on the Seed Park project.
On the Defence Corridor initiative, the Chief Minister called for all necessary support to investors to position Uttar Pradesh as a leading defence manufacturing hub. Officials informed that Icons Hindustan Aerospace and Defence Systems Private Limited has proposed an investment of ₹125 crore at the Aligarh Defence Node, with the proposal currently progressing through the approval process. Reviewing the proposed Agriculture Export Hub near Jewar International Airport and the Aqua Bridge project in Unnao, the Chief Minister directed officials to create modern processing and export facilities to connect agriculture and fisheries products with global markets. Of the 50 acres required for the Agri Export Hub, 29 acres have already been identified, while 60 acres have been earmarked for the Aqua Bridge project.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the Chief Minister Yuva Udyami Yojana and instructed departments to further strengthen initiatives promoting entrepreneurship and self-employment among youth. Highlighting the importance of urban infrastructure development amid rapid urbanisation, he directed officials to prioritise projects under the Urban Challenge Fund. During the meeting, the Chief Minister further directed that all projects reviewed under the ‘CM Samiksha’ mechanism be accorded the highest priority. He also instructed the formation of a dedicated monitoring cell within the Chief Minister’s Office to ensure regular review and timely execution of these projects.
