Gujarat, May 31, 2026: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to strengthen education and healthcare initiatives across the state, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable community development and inclusive growth. The MoU was signed in the presence of Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister; Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat; senior government officials; Mrs Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, Chairperson and Managing Director, Kirloskar Systems Pvt. Ltd.; Mr Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Governance, TKM; Mr Simant Arun, Vice President, West Region, Sales-Service-Used Car, TKM; and other senior leaders from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
As part of the collaboration, TKM will implement a range of initiatives focused on community learning, digital education, skill development and rural healthcare infrastructure. These include the establishment of community libraries, a mobile computer education electric bus, advanced technical training programmes and the provision of essential medical equipment. To encourage reading and lifelong learning, TKM has supported the creation of community libraries equipped with air conditioning, CCTV surveillance and solar power facilities. These centres are expected to benefit more than three lakh learners across different age groups.
Expanding access to digital education, TKM has also introduced a Mobile Computer Education Electric Bus in Surat district. The initiative will provide computer literacy and digital skills training to students in rural areas across five blocks, benefiting nearly 8,000 students and helping bridge the digital divide.In the area of skill development, TKM has implemented the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at Government ITI, Jamnagar. The programme aims to equip students with advanced automotive service and maintenance skills while improving employability and addressing industry skill gaps. Covering 29 trades, including Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Fitter and Painter, the initiative is expected to benefit around 3,700 students.
Further strengthening rural healthcare services, TKM will provide essential medical equipment to Community Health Centres in Rajkot. The initiative aims to improve access to quality healthcare for nearly 6.5 lakh people by enhancing the availability of advanced medical facilities in rural communities.
