NEW DELHI, 11th November 2025 Kia India has introduced an industry-first Plant Remote Over-the-Air (OTA) feature, enabling its connected vehicles to receive software updates even before they leave the factory floor.
The innovation available in models equipped with Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCNC) ensures that every new vehicle is delivered with the latest software pre-installed, offering customers a fully upgraded and ready-to-drive experience from day one.
“At Kia, we’re redefining the ownership experience to be more seamless, intelligent, and future-ready,” said Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India. “By ensuring every vehicle leaves the plant with the latest software, we are driving innovation that truly enhances the customer journey.”
The Plant Remote OTA leverages Controller OTA functionality compliant with Connected Car System 2.0 (CCS 2.0), minimising the need for manual intervention or dealership visits. This allows buyers to instantly access Kia’s full suite of connected services and features upon delivery.
Kia said the feature would be extended to all future connected models, bridging the gap between production and delivery through timely features and security updates. The move reinforces Kia’s positioning as one of India’s leading connected car brands, with more than 4.95 lakh connected vehicles already on Indian roads.
Kia India’s Anantapur facility, operational since 2019, has so far dispatched 1.5 million vehicles, including over 3.67 lakh exports, and continues to serve as a key hub for both domestic and global markets, company officials informed EV Story
