Tata Motors, India's largest automaker, rolled out the one millionth Tata Punch, India's first subcompact SUV, from its Pune production site. The Tata Punch was the first SUV to reach this milestone within ten months, establishing a new standard for the industry. Customers have responded extremely well to its gorgeous look, solid performance, and best-in-class 5-star safety.
The Tata Punch is the baby of the 'New Forever' lineup and is equipped with outstanding amenities such as a 7-inch touchscreen system, digital instrument cluster, automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights, connected car technology, and cruise control. The Tata Punch combines the manoeuvrability of a hatchback with the DNA of an SUV and has consistently ranked among India's top 10 best-selling vehicles.
Mr Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said the company was pleased that 1,00,000 units of Punch had been sold in less than ten months. It was one of the most popular SUVs in their “New Forever’ lineup, and thanked its customers for their continued confidence and support, without whom this would not have been possible. Adding the Punch was the second vehicle based on their ALFA architecture and the four pillars of a real SUV: Stunning design, Versatility combined with an engaging performance, roomy and spacious interiors, and safety.
Since its introduction in 2021, Tata Punch has been recognised for its distinctive look (it looks like a mini-Harrier), especially from the front. Based on the ALFA platform, it offers up a substantial amount of cabin room, a huge plus in this class. The platform also provides for a comfortable drive. Its cabin is tough and helps prevent passengers from feeling the bumps on the road, a blessing on some Indian roads. The Punch offers a variety of solutions at various price ranges, appealing to a broad range of consumer preferences. In July of 1922, 11,002 units of punch were the most ever sold.
Powered by a 1.2-litre gasoline engine, it achieves exceptional fuel economy of 18.82 km/l in Manual and 18.97 km/l in AMT. With a 5-Star GNCAP certification and manual and automatic powertrain options, the Punch is the safest subcompact SUV in India. The vehicle is offered in eight colours and dual-tone variations. With features such as projector headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto-folding ORVMs, diamond-cut 16-inch alloys, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic temperature control, and a semi-digital instrument cluster, the Punch aims to provide the highest level of comfort. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with the iRA-linked car technology, which offers more than 25 capabilities, making it a complete package for its clients.
