Bengaluru, May 04, 2026: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the deployment of two specially equipped, camouflage Toyota Hilux vehicles to the Bengaluru South District, Ramanagara Division, as part of its Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) initiative. Fitted with critical forest fire mitigation equipment such as blowers and stretchers, the vehicles are designed to strengthen the capabilities of the Emergency Response Team (ERT). This support will enable faster and more effective action in addressing human-wildlife conflicts, conducting wildlife rescues, and responding to forest fire incidents.
Built for rugged terrain, the Toyota Hilux will enhance last-mile connectivity across dense forest areas. The vehicles will be deployed for key operations including forest patrolling, biodiversity conservation, wildlife protection, and rapid emergency response. The formal handover ceremony took place in Kanakapura in the presence of Shri D. K. Shivakumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, along with officials from the Forest Department and senior leadership from TKM. Commending the initiative, Shri D. K. Shivakumar said, “We sincerely appreciate Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s continued support. These vehicles will significantly improve our response time during emergencies, especially in challenging terrains, and will strengthen on-ground conservation efforts.”
Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Project Senior Vice President & Head of State Affairs, TKM, stated, “Environmental conservation is a shared responsibility. This initiative goes beyond mobility—it equips frontline forest teams with the essential tools needed to respond swiftly in critical situations. It reflects our sustained commitment to protecting natural ecosystems and supporting those working on the frontlines.”
This effort aligns with TKM’s broader sustainability vision, which emphasizes environmental stewardship, community development, and responsible resource management. The company continues to collaborate with government bodies and local communities to drive long-term positive environmental impact.
