National, March 3, 2026: GreenCell Mobility, India’s largest electric bus platform, observed National Road Safety Month 2026 with a deeply purpose-driven, nationwide initiative — reaffirming that for the company, safety is not just a policy, but a promise to every passenger, employee, and community it touches. Across its depots nationwide, GreenCell Mobility transformed the month into a movement. Through awareness campaigns, hands-on engagement drives, and structured capability-building programmes , the initiative reached over 9,500 individuals, reflecting both the scale of its operations and the depth of its commitment to protecting lives on the road.
At the core of the programme was a renewed focus on those who steer the journey the Coach Captains. Specialised training sessions reinforced defensive driving practices, passenger-first safety protocols, and emergency response readiness. These sessions were designed not only to sharpen skills, but to strengthen confidence, vigilance, and accountability behind the wheel. Understanding that safe mobility begins with physical and mental well-being, the company partnered with the Brahmakumaris to conduct mindfulness and well-being sessions, while also organising medical and eye check-up camps. By prioritising employee health, GreenCell reinforced a simple belief: a cared-for workforce drives safer roads.
The initiative extended beyond depot walls. In collaboration with Road Traffic Authorities, GreenCell launched public awareness drives and reward & recognition programmes to encourage responsible road behaviour. Fire safety and passenger evacuation mock drills, conducted with local fire departments, ensured preparedness in real-world scenarios — turning awareness into action. Reaching out to young minds, the company organised road safety sessions in nearby schools, nurturing a culture of responsibility from an early age. Meanwhile, vibrant street theatre performances (Nukkad Nataks), in partnership with NGOs, brought powerful safety messages directly to communities. On-ground interactions with bikers, pedestrians, and daily commuters further reinforced the shared responsibility of road safety.
Commenting on the initiative, Devndra Chawla, MD & CEO, GreenCell Mobility, said: “At GreenCell Mobility, safety is deeply embedded in the way we operate. National Road Safety Month gave us an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to building safer roads through stronger driver capability, employee well-being, and meaningful community engagement. Every life matters, and every safe journey counts.”
The month-long campaign reflects GreenCell Mobility’s enduring belief that sustainable mobility must also be safe mobility. At GreenCell, safety is not an annual observance — it is a living commitment, carried forward every single day, on every single route.
