Mauritius, June 24, 2026: SWITCH Mobility, a leading global manufacturer of electric buses and light commercial vehicles and part of the Hinduja Group, showcased the international variant of its flagship SWITCH EiV12 electric bus at the Best of Bharat & Mauritius Expo 2026, highlighting India’s growing capabilities in sustainable and connected mobility solutions. The specially configured 12-metre fully electric intracity bus, featuring a distinctive international-market identity, reflects SWITCH Mobility’s commitment to advancing India’s position as a global hub for electric vehicle innovation and manufacturing. Organized by the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), the expo was held from June 17 to 21, 2026, bringing together businesses, innovators and stakeholders from India and Mauritius.
The participation holds particular significance as Mauritius has emerged as an important international market for SWITCH Mobility. Earlier this year, the company successfully delivered 100 electric buses to the Government of Mauritius, marking the largest-ever electric bus export from India. A majority of these buses are already in operation with the National Transport Corporation (NTC), supporting the country’s transition towards cleaner public transportation. At the expo, SWITCH Mobility showcased the EiV12 in its international configuration, currently operated by Triolet Bus Service. The next-generation electric bus has been engineered to deliver high efficiency, operational reliability and superior passenger comfort. Featuring an ergonomically designed 48-seat layout, the vehicle is tailored to meet the evolving needs of modern public transport operators while ensuring a comfortable travel experience for passengers.
The showcase further reinforces SWITCH Mobility’s growing global footprint and its vision of delivering world-class, Made-in-India electric mobility solutions to international markets.
